Trust and Safety team at Zalopay gathers highly motivated team players who are dedicated to building Zalopay as the most trusted financial service and best defense against bad actors in Vietnam fintech market.
By developing and adopting advanced tech-driven prevention mechanisms/solutions while focusing on the user growth and customer experience, we aim to make risk management capability as a core and key differentiation of Zalopay comparing to other competitors. This helps our business grow sustainably and provide affordable services to all Vietnamese people.
Responsibilities:
- A Risk Data Analyst will take ownership and handle analytical problems related to one or more of the following key pillars: Promotion Abuse, Card Payment Fraud, Account Take Over, Merchant Risk, eKYC Risk, or Credit Risk, depending on individual’s strength and company’s key focus;
- Participate in creating risk metrics, building dashboards utilizing data visualization tools to monitor & identify abnormal user activities, app usage and fraudulent attempts for the pillars above;
- Conduct exploratory data analysis to deep dive into cases of suspicious abuse or fraud (e.g., app & device info, installation and registration behavior, payment transaction details, etc.) and abnormal activities to identify patterns of fraudulent or abusive behaviors;
- Work closely with Risk Strategy team, Data Science team, Product team on analyzing and tracking impact & effectiveness of risk rules/policies/products/solutions (coverage, false-positive, drop-off rate of challenge) to propose actionable insights & plans to enhance them;
- Follow up the efficiency of your recommendations & adapt to different conditions;
- Work closely with Risk Data Platform team to ensure accurate and high-quality data is consistently collected and analyzed;
- Assist with establishing & developing post-mortem analysis and reporting for multiple aspects of Risk management including but not limited to promotion campaigns, payment, and wallet risks.

- Ability to think critically, analyze and solve problems with a strong attention to detail;
- Being able to understand and represent business and user needs, distilling insights to set strong roadmaps that meet short and long-term needs;
- Excellent organizational and communication skills;
- Experience in SQL and NoSQL query (e.g., MySQL, MongoDB); proficiency in Python or Excel is a plus.
- Experience in BI tools (e.g., Tableau) and big data computation (i.e., using computation engine such as Spark) is a plus.
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced & collaborative environment;
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently;
- Willing to continuously expand expertise of both risk-related domains & technical tools (querying languages, visualization tools, analysis techniques, etc.)
